Terms of Service
1. The service
transcribe.free converts audio and video files you upload into text transcripts using automated speech recognition. The service is provided as-is: transcription output is machine-generated and may contain errors; you are responsible for reviewing transcripts before relying on them.
2. Your content
You keep all rights to the files you upload and the transcripts generated from them. By uploading, you grant us only the limited technical license needed to store, process, and return the file to you. You must have the necessary rights to any recording you upload — including, where applicable, the consent of recorded parties — and you agree not to upload content that is unlawful or that you have no right to process.
3. Free tier and fair use
Free usage is limited per visitor and per account (currently 3 files/day anonymously and 5 files/day with a free account, with per-file duration and size caps shown on the site). Circumventing these limits — for example by rotating IPs or automating anonymous uploads — is prohibited. Pro's "fair-use unlimited" tier carries a 100-hours-per-month soft cap and is for individual use, not for reselling transcription capacity.
4. Accounts and payments
Paid subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; cancelling stops future renewals and you keep access through the period already paid. Credit packs are one-time purchases that do not expire. Refunds are handled per our refund policy.
5. Data retention
Anonymous uploads and their transcripts are deleted automatically 24 hours after upload. Account content remains until you delete it or delete your account. We may remove content that violates these terms.
6. Acceptable use
You may not use the service to process content you have no right to, to violate any law, to attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the service, or to build a competing dataset from our output at scale.
7. Disclaimer and liability
The service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy of transcription, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
8. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected on this page with a new date. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
