Regional accents (Milanese, Roman, Neapolitan, Sicilian speakers speaking Italian) are no obstacle: accent coloring, gemination differences, and regional intonation are absorbed without hurting accuracy. Swiss Italian (Ticino) patterns the same.
The distinction that matters is accent vs language: actual dialetti — Neapolitan, Sicilian, Venetian as languages — are not Italian, and pushing a true dialect recording through this page will produce a rough Italianization.
